Beef and Apple Casserole
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 large apple, peeled and chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 cups cubed cheep
- 2 cups cubed bread
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 8 minutes.
4. Add the apple, beef broth, wine, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
5. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place the cubed cheep and bread in the dish.
6. Pour the beef mixture over the top and spread evenly.
7. Pour the cream over the top and spread evenly.
8. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbling.
9. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
