Make Carne Finocchietto

Carne Finocchietto


-1 lb ground beef
-1/4 cup finely chopped finocchietto (wild fennel)
-1/2 cup diced onion
-2 cloves garlic, minced
-1/4 cup white wine
-1/4 cup tomato sauce
-1 teaspoon dried oregano
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-1/4 teaspoon black pepper
-1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese


1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until it is no longer pink.

2. Add the finocchietto, onion, and garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. Pour in the white wine and cook until it has reduced by half.

4. Add the tomato sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper and stir to combine.

5. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6. Remove from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese.

7. Serve over cooked pasta or with crusty bread. Enjoy!
