Recipe Name: Cheesy Baked Rice
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of rice
- 2 cups of water
- 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/4 cup of butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped herbs (such as parsley or chives) for garnish
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
2. In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the rice, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
3. In the same saucepan, add the milk, butter, and half of the shredded cheese. Stir over low heat until the cheese is melted and the mixture is creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the cooked rice until well combined.
5. Transfer the cheesy rice mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
6. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese and grated Parmesan cheese on top of the rice.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
9. Garnish with chopped herbs if desired, and enjoy your delicious Cheesy Baked Rice!
