Chicken Shawarma
Ingredients:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 2 large Arabic breads
- 1 large carrot, grated
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, cumin, coriander, garlic powder, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper, lemon juice, chives, and parsley.
3. Place the chicken breasts in a shallow baking dish and pour the olive oil mixture over the chicken. Turn the chicken to coat it in the mixture.
4. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
5. Meanwhile, warm the Arabic breads in the oven for 5 minutes.
6. Slice the chicken into thin strips.
7. To assemble the shawarma, spread the grated carrot and chopped onion on the warm Arabic breads. Top with the sliced chicken and roll up.
8. Serve warm. Enjoy!
