Make Chocolate Chip Almond Cookies

Ingredients:
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the shortening, butter, and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add the almond extract and corn syrup to the mixture and mix well.
4. Gradually add the flour and salt to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
5. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
6. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
7. Flatten each cookie slightly with the back of a spoon.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
