Ingredients:
- 1 whole chicken (about 4-5 lbs)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Optional: herbs and spices of your choice (such as pepper, thyme, rosemary)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. Remove the chicken from its packaging and pat it dry with paper towels.
3. Season the chicken all over, including inside the cavity, with the salt and any additional herbs or spices you prefer.
4. Place the chicken breast-side up on a roasting pan or baking dish.
5. Roast the chicken in the preheated oven for about 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the juices run clear.
6. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for about 10-15 minutes before carving.
