Make Classic Scrambled Eggs
Recipe Name: Classic Scrambled Eggs
Ingredients:
- 4 large eggs
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, chopped herbs, diced vegetables
Step-by-Step Guide:
1. Crack the eggs into a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Use a fork or whisk to beat the eggs until the yolks and whites are well combined.
2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Allow the butter to melt and coat the bottom of the skillet.
3. Pour the beaten eggs into the skillet and let them sit for a few seconds until the edges start to set.
4. Using a spatula, gently push the cooked edges towards the center, allowing the uncooked eggs to flow to the edges. Continue this motion around the skillet until the eggs are mostly cooked but still slightly runny.
5. At this point, you can add any optional toppings such as shredded cheese, chopped herbs, or diced vegetables. Sprinkle them evenly over the eggs.
6. Continue cooking the eggs, gently folding them over themselves with the spatula until they reach your desired consistency. If you prefer softer scrambled eggs, cook them for a shorter time. For firmer scrambled eggs, cook them for a bit longer.
7. Once the eggs are cooked to your liking, remove the skillet from the heat. They will continue to cook slightly from the residual heat.
8. Serve the scrambled eggs immediately while they are still hot and fluffy. They can be enjoyed on their own or paired with toast, bacon, or any other breakfast accompaniments of your choice.
Note: Scrambled eggs are best enjoyed fresh, as they tend to lose their texture and become rubbery if left sitting for too long.
