Make Decadent Chocolate Cake
Recipe Name: Decadent Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix on medium speed until well combined.
4. Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth. The batter will be thin, but that's okay.
5. If desired, fold in the chocolate chips.
6. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
8. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove them from the pans and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
9. Once the cakes are completely cool, you can frost and decorate them as desired.
