Ham and Leek Pie
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 leeks, sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 cups of diced ham
- 1/2 cup of chicken broth
- 1/4 cup of white wine
- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the leeks and onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
4. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
5. Add the ham and cook for another 3 minutes.
6. Add the chicken broth, white wine, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper.
7. Simmer for 5 minutes.
8. Add the flour and butter and stir until combined.
9. Remove from heat and let cool.
10. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry into a 12-inch circle.
11. Place the ham and leek mixture in the center of the pastry and spread it out evenly.
12. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling and pinch to seal.
13. Brush the top of the pastry with the beaten egg.
14. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
15. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
