Make Indian Food Feast

Recipe Name: Indian Food Feast

Ingredients:
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 cup lentils (masoor dal)
- 1 lb chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 lb lamb, cut into pieces
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
- Ghee or oil for cooking

Step by Step Guide:
1. Rinse the basmati rice and lentils separately under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
2. In a large pot, heat some ghee or oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until they turn translucent.
3. Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Cook for a few minutes until fragrant.
4. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.
5. Add the chicken and lamb pieces to the pot. Cook until they are browned on all sides.
6. Add the turmeric, cumin, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well to coat the meat with the spices.
7. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot along with the lentils. Stir gently to combine everything.
8. Pour enough water into the pot to cover the rice and lentils by about an inch. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the rice and lentils are cooked through.
9. Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with fresh cilantro.
10. Serve the Indian Food Feast hot with some raita or pickle on the side. Enjoy!
