Indian Spiced Rice
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of long grain rice
- 2 tablespoons of coriander
- 2 teaspoons of star anise
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon of fennel seeds
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 2 cups of water
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
2. Add the coriander, star anise, cinnamon, cumin seeds, and fennel seeds and fry for 1 minute.
3. Add the rice and stir to coat in the spices.
4. Add the water and salt and bring to a boil.
5. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
6. Remove from the heat and let stand for 5 minutes.
7. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.
