Make Japanese Chicken Teriyaki with Rice

Recipe Name: Japanese Chicken Teriyaki with Rice

Ingredients:
- 1 cup of white rice
- 2 chicken breasts, sliced into strips
- 1/2 cup of soy sauce
- 1/4 cup of mirin
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons of water
- Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

Instructions:
1. Cook the white rice according to package instructions and set aside.
2. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, mirin, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to make the teriyaki sauce.
3. Marinate the chicken strips in half of the teriyaki sauce for at least 30 minutes.
4. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the marinated chicken until browned and cooked through.
5. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry.
6. Pour the remaining teriyaki sauce into the skillet with the chicken and bring to a simmer.
7. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
8. Serve the teriyaki chicken over the cooked white rice.
9. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
