Make Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken
Recipe Name: Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken
Ingredients:
- 1 whole chicken (about 4-5 lbs)
- 2 lemons
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Step by Step Guide:
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. Rinse the chicken inside and out, then pat it dry with paper towels.
3. Zest one of the lemons and set the zest aside. Cut both lemons in half.
4. In a small bowl, mix together the lemon zest, minced garlic, olive oil, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper.
5. Rub the herb mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin and inside the cavity.
6. Place the lemon halves inside the cavity of the chicken.
7. Tie the legs together with kitchen twine and tuck the wings under the body of the chicken.
8. Place the chicken on a roasting pan or baking dish.
9. Roast the chicken in the preheated oven for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is golden brown and crispy.
10. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before carving.
