Murmura Upma
Ingredients:
- 2 cups murmura (puffed rice)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 potato, diced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
Instructions:
1. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
2. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let them splutter.
3. Add the chopped onions and sauté for a few minutes until they are lightly golden.
4. Add the potatoes and sauté for a few more minutes until they are lightly browned.
5. Add the tomatoes and sauté for a few more minutes until they are soft.
6. Add the murmura and mix well.
7. Add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt and mix well.
8. Add 2 cups of water and mix well.
9. Cover the pan and cook for 10 minutes or until the murmura is cooked.
10. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
