Chicken and Mushroom Puff Pastry Pie
Ingredients:
-1 sheet of puff pastry
-1 lb of chicken, cooked and diced
-1/2 lb of mushrooms, sliced
-1/4 cup of butter
-1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
-1/2 cup of chicken broth
-1/2 cup of heavy cream
-1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
-1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme
-Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2. Place the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and roll it out to a 12-inch square. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms and cook until they are softened, about 5 minutes.
4. Add the flour and stir until it is incorporated. Slowly add the chicken broth and cream, stirring constantly.
5. Add the garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
6. Add the cooked chicken and stir until it is combined.
7. Pour the chicken and mushroom mixture onto the puff pastry. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
9. Serve warm. Enjoy!
