Ingredients:
- 1 cup of long-grain white rice
- 2 cups of water
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Instructions:
1. Rinse the rice under cold water in a fine-mesh strainer until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch for fluffier rice.
2. In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil over high heat.
3. Add the rinsed rice and salt to the boiling water, stir once, then reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid.
4. Let the rice simmer on low heat for about 18-20 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes to steam.
6. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
