Pizza
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Your favorite pizza toppings (pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, etc.)
Instructions:
1. In a small bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven to heat up.
6. Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal portions. Roll out each portion into a round pizza crust.
7. Place the pizza crust on a parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza peel.
8. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the crust, leaving a small border around the edges.
9. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce and add your favorite toppings.
10. Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven.
11. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
