Polish Apple Cake Recipe

Ingredients:
- 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.
7. Arrange half of the sliced apples on top of the batter.
8. Pour the remaining batter over the apples and top with the remaining sliced apples.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
10. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
11. Dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar before serving.
