Recipe: Avocado Caprese Grilled Cheese
Ingredients:
- 4 slices of sourdough bread
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves (optional)
Instructions:
1. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
2. Spread the softened butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
3. Place two slices of bread, butter side down, on the skillet.
4. Layer the mozzarella cheese, avocado slices, tomato slices, and basil leaves (if using) on top of the bread.
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
6. Top with the remaining two slices of bread, butter side up.
7. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
8. Remove from the skillet and let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
