Recipe: Homemade Tomato Basil Pasta

Ingredients:
- 1 jar homemade canned tomatoes or 2 cans of plum tomatoes
- Half large onion, diced
- 1 clove of garlic
- 2 ounces fresh basil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions:
1. In a large saucepan, sauté the diced onion in 3 tbsp of olive oil over medium heat until translucent.
2. Add the garlic and sauté for about 15 seconds, then add the tomatoes.
3. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then add the salt, sugar, butter, and half of the basil.
4. Allow the sauce to simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. In the meantime, boil your pasta of choice according to package instructions.
6. Once the sauce has simmered, serve it over the cooked pasta and top with the remaining fresh basil leaves.
