Make Saffron Chicken Biryani
Saffron Chicken Biryani
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of long grain rice
- 2 tablespoons of saffron threads
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons of ginger, grated
- 2 teaspoons of garam masala
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric
- 1 teaspoon of cumin
- 1 teaspoon of coriander
- 2 cups of diced chicken
- 2 cups of water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Soak the saffron threads in 2 tablespoons of warm water for 10 minutes.
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
3. Add the ginger, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, and coriander and cook for another minute.
4. Add the chicken and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
5. Add the rice and stir to coat with the spices.
6. Add the water, saffron and its soaking liquid, and salt and pepper to taste.
7. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
8. Remove from the heat and let sit for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
