Sugar Cream Doughnuts
Ingredients:
-1 cup all-purpose flour
-1 teaspoon baking powder
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-1/4 cup sugar
-1/4 cup melted butter
-1/2 cup cream
-1 egg
-Oil for frying
-Additional sugar for coating
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
2. Add the melted butter, cream, and egg and mix until a soft dough forms.
3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
4. Cut out doughnuts with a doughnut cutter or a biscuit cutter.
5. Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large pot to 375°F.
6. Fry the doughnuts in batches until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
7. Drain on paper towels and let cool slightly.
8. In a shallow bowl, mix together 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon salt.
9. Roll the doughnuts in the sugar mixture to coat.
10. Drizzle with melted butter or cream and serve.
