Make Tomato Onion Paratha
Recipe Name: Tomato Onion Paratha
Ingredients:
- 2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cups wheat flour
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Water as needed
Step by Step Guide:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the wheat flour, salt, and 1 tablespoon of oil. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
2. In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
3. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
4. Add the chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the mixture is well combined.
5. Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Roll out each ball into a small circle.
6. Place a spoonful of the tomato-onion mixture in the center of the circle. Fold the edges to seal the filling inside.
7. Roll out the stuffed dough ball into a paratha.
8. Heat a skillet or griddle and cook the paratha on both sides until golden brown, using a little oil or ghee.
9. Serve hot with tomato sauce on the side.
